- The ressess of the windows into the facade provides substantial shading when the sun is close to parrallel with the plane of the windows. A small increase of this ressess would lessen the amount of sun the shading devices must block. This should be taken advantage of whenever possible.
- The slotted design of the devices appears to affect the quality of the shade only at certain times between May and August, when it offers less complete shade. There is no time during which this design provides more shade than a simple solid panel would, and appears to have no functional purpose. One must be wary of making aesthetic choices without considering possible consequenses for efficiency of the building.
- Vertical fins on the sides of the windows would provide additional shading where only a horzontal panel lacks protection.
